Why the land of Fire & Ice to maximise and recover your health and vitality?
Because it should be on anyone’s bucket list. Iceland is amaaaazing; I was just blown away by its untouched nature, beautiful landscape, fresh food, thermal springs, ever changing weather, and culture.
Iceland is a true feast for the senses - including culinary surprises, yes you heard me right! I just can’t get enough of its rare and wild nature while the restless volcanic activity fills you with exciting and positive energy.
It is a land of myth and legends, and the diverse landscape from ice to green, volcanoes, and waterfalls is just breathtaking. A trip to Iceland is a trip into natural art.
The mountains are made from rhyolite rock, and you feel like you are looking at multi-colored glass made of white, pink, grey and purple hues. Stunning!
And I mustn’t forget, Iceland’s many thermal springs, they just seem to be everywhere, so make sure you bring a few swimsuits along.
The Blue Lagoon is truly spectacular and romantic, blue water surrounded by black volcanic rock covered in snow, and lit up by soft romantic underwater dimmer lights. A dip in the water will be refreshing and healing to your skin and spirits.
Wow, and where will we be staying?
Your home for six unforgettable nights and 7 days is going to be in the Natura Hotel in Reykjavik where you’ll feel like you’ve found a relaxing and luxurious oasis in the middle of Iceland’s capital.
Reykjavik has a vibrant art and music scene of which we will make the most of. The historic core of Reykjavik consists of colorful houses and rooftops with seagulls flying overhead. And the sea is just everywhere, ranging from the wonderful salty breezes to the breathtaking views across the bay. There is a regular shuttle going from the hotel to the city center.
Reykjavik is the perfect base from which to explore Iceland’s rich and natural heritage, hardy flora and fauna, and Thingvellir National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
The Natura Hotel itself is located in the beautiful surroundings of Öskjuhlíð hill and Nauthólsvík beach with its hot thermal pools; this is were you might want to practice cold therapy and the 'Wim Hof' method.
The hotel is certified as a Green Hotel with birds singing just for you, and fresh ocean air all around. The rooms are plain but comfortable reflecting the simple nordic style.
The Spa, inspired by Iceland’s unique surroundings and natural resources offers some of Reykjavik’s most exclusive massage treatments to soothe both body and mind. Apart from the sauna, steam bath, and hot tubs, you can enjoy the Sóley Organics treatment collection, which combines an ingenious blend of wild Icelandic herbs, aromatic essentials oils and a holistic approach to treating the individual needs of your body and skin.
There is magical energy about this island in the north of the Atlantic that will inspire you and your imagination and get you away from your desk or sofa.
Whether you are a gourmet or a gourmand, you are going to love this trip and Icelandic food. I intend to spoil you with fresh culinary delights that will stimulate your taste buds for years to come. Thankfully we will be burning off most of this on our adventure activities. :)
Icelandic food is among the freshest in the world. The crystal clear water and air, the freely grazing sheep and cows, the wild fish and the chemical-free plants make excellent ingredients for what may be the best quality food you have ever tried. Iceland’s chefs are masters at creating excellent dishes, infusing the ocean’s bounty with herbs and spices found in the Icelandic nature. It is nourishing the body and mind with its freshness and subtle flavors. I will attempt to take you to new restaurants as often as possible, so get a list of your favorite restaurants over to me so I can book a table.
In Iceland, you can taste beer poached Icelandic Blue Mussels, slow cooked lamb shoulder with green peas, estragon sauce, and waffle fries. And wait for those desserts when you eat the infamous Icelandic Skyr (a kind of a cream cheese) with blackberry jam, pistachios, and ladyfingers. I think you get the picture.
If you don’t eat this or that – no worries – the hotel and restaurants are happy to accommodate any of your food preferences.
On our first evening, we will do a local beer and food tasting trip to Reykjavik’s breweries, where you will enjoy locally-sourced foods that will be immersed in the flavors of the far north while you are listening to stories, legends and insider tips from your local host.
To start with, no trip to Iceland would be complete without indulging in a traditional spa at our hotel ranging from the hot tub, steam bath, sauna, relaxation area, and even a fitness room.
The Spa in the Natura Hotel will take you onto a sensorial journey ranging from top-to-toe marine enzyme conditioning, an aromatic massage with essential oils to a full-body Swedish massage which is the perfect remedy to awaken the mind and unwind achy muscles.
One day I would love to do part of the famous “Golden Circle Trip” where you will see the best nature has to offer in Iceland. This could include bathing in the Secret Lagoon followed by a visit to a lively Geysir and the mighty Gullfoss waterfall; or a visit to Thingvellir UNESCO national park reserve and time permitting, the Althingi -the oldest house of parliament in the world. Enjoy getting to know the real Iceland.
Ah, and I mustn’t forget the Northern Lights, they are an otherworldly sight in the sky at night. These beautiful green lights dance around the sky in Iceland in wintertime. One evening, I would love to take you on a magical night tour chasing the Northern Lights as they dance in their green and sometimes purple hues across Iceland’s night sky.
And of course we can’t forget our two half-day tours and activities ranging from the Blue Lagoon, a Jeep Safari across Volcanic landscape, ice caving, a visit to a dormant volcano, Icelandic music, and storytelling. If you are really adventurous maybe snorkeling in the famous Silfra Fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park. The diving and snorkeling site at Silfra is right where the two continents meet and drift apart about 2 cm per year.
I’m not sure exactly what we’ll be seeing yet, this all depends on your preferences, but the choice is yours!
And yup – don’t worry, you’ll also have some time to yourself when you may want to explore Reykjavik and other parts of South Iceland or relax in the hotels' Spa. It’s all included.
Just explain to me in detail what the health side of programme is all about.........
Through a bespoke pain relief program, you will be given the tools to become pain-free and lead a healthy, radiant and motion rich life. You will put into practice and be able to pick my brains on how to achieve and maintain optimal health and fitness levels, including:
Rapid Recovery Movement to align, strengthen and rebalance your musculoskeletal system. This is the foundation for experiencing lasting relief from chronic pain. We will do gentle exercises and stretches every day.
Find Your Healing Frequency is about hands on therapy with proven bio-feedback devices that reduce pain instantly, tackle inflammation, detox your body and relax you, so you sleep well at night.
Breathe Your Pain Away will deal with the ultimate life source: "Breathing". You will learn different breathing techniques to maximise oxygen levels in your blood which will energize you and fight inflammation.
Digest Yourself To Health aims to establish optimal gut function and maximize absorption of minerals and vitamins. Where there is pain there is inflammation, made worse through the foods you eat.
Lifetime Success Strategies is about helping you make those every day lifestyle changes particularly in the kitchen and the home, so you can live a healthy life and prevent disease.
But this is not everything; we will be exploring the reasons behind longevity of people around the world including the importance of natural exercise, living in healthy environments, fun activities with friends and people you love, and healthy diet including the odd glass of beer as you can tell from the Delights section above.
We will watch movies to further your understanding of what you have learned and experienced during the day - that will give you purpose and inspire you to undertake those necessary changes you have been putting on a back burner.
This unmissable retreat experience was specifically designed for YOU to combine the ultimate in pain-relief, relaxation, pampering, preventative health care, outdoor adventures, and social activities so you can lead a PAIN-FREE, HEALTHY, and MOTION rich life for good.

On the Retreat, we will be joined by Debra Graham, who is one of the leading therapists in the UK (and Europe) in pain relief therapy using biofeedback devices. No pain is too big for Debra! She will set out to heal you with an innate passion putting her heart and soul into getting you pain-free and feeling better again.
Debra initially qualified in Massage and Reflexology in 1994 and began working privately and within the National Health Service and charitable organizations. She then extended her private practice by setting up a clinic for the staff at the Walt Disney Company head offices, where she worked for 9 years.
In 2003, Debra discovered bio-feedback therapy as a result of an injury to her hand and hasn't looked back since. She traveled to Russia to study with the pioneers of this technology, where she obtained her teacher's training certificate and set up her own company afterward. She has helped countless people become pain-free. Some of Debra's favorite things include walking her dogs in the forest and traveling the world with her partner.
Fun & Little-Known Facts: Debra traveled for one year around Europe in her twenties and enjoyed singing. So if we are lucky, maybe she will do some Karaoke for us!
